2 WEEK QUARANTINE - EVERY DOG AND PUPPY MUST BE QUARANTINED 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO LEAVING ON THE TRANSPORT, THIS PRECAUTION IS FOR YOUR DOG'S SAFETY AS WELL AS THE OTHERS.
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR DOGS AND PUPPIES
Dogs and puppies need to be up to date with their shots with either DA2PPv (5 in 1) or DA2PPvL ( 7 in 1 ) which includes Lepto.
Puppies 3 mos. old and older ARE REQUIRED to have their Rabies vaccination to travel out of state.
Bordetella vaccination (kennel cough) vaccination
Please note that even when a Bordetella vaccine has been given to a dog or puppy it does not protect against every strain of Kennel cough. When a dog or puppy begins the transport that dog or puppy may not have shown any signs of Kennel cough until after they arrive to the receiving end. For example the dog or puppy might be getting sick before they leave on the transport with no signs of sickness, the dog also can get sick from climate changes, stress, etc. Kennel cough has to have a host to live on so kennel cough is not harboring inside the RV when no dogs or puppies are on board. Kennel cough is not on board the RV when it is empty and not on a transport. A person in rescue gave a helpful tidbit and says it works, to give Bordetella then wait 2 weeks and give another Bordetella and by vaccinating twice it works better on protection.
* NO RAWHIDE CHEWIES * on the transport. There have been too many horror stories I have heard about that are fatal to dogs that are related to raw hide chewies. Chewies have gotten lodged in the dog's mouth, accidentally swallowed and gotten stuck going down the throat and suffocated the dog which cut off the dog's oxygen supply to the brain. I do not want to have any dog or puppy to get hurt or choked on the transport by a chewie, hopefully not only is this is for my own peace of mind but your own as well.
PLEASE TRY TO BE MINIMAL ABOUT WHAT YOU SEND WITH DOGS AND PUPPIES. WE HAVE SO MUCH ROOM ON THE RV AND MOST IS ROOM FOR PET CARRIERS FOR THE DOGS AND PUPPIES TO TRAVEL IN. IF ITEMS ARE FORGOTTEN WE CAN NO LONGER MAIL THE FORGOTTEN ITEMS LEFT BEHIND, PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TO REMIND OUR DRIVERS. OF COURSE THE LESS THE BETTER.
FLEA AND TICK FREE - PLEASE CHECK EVERY DOG AND PUPPY BEFORE LEAVING ON THE TRANSPORT.
PARASITE FREE - INCLUDES ROUND, HOOK, WHIP AND TAPE WORMS. REGULAR WORMER DOES NOT RID DOGS OF TAPESWORMS. DRONTAL PLUS WORMER DOES INCLUDE TAPE WORMS.

SUGGESTIONS:
CAP STARS kill fleas, if any dog or puppy has fleas on them, this pill begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes after given.
TICKS: If your dog or puppy has ticks on them, they CAN NOT go on the transport, seed ticks will spread to other dogs, spread to other crates, get on the drivers. ABSOLUTELY no dogs or puppies that have ticks can go on the transport.
"PREVENTIC" TICK COLLAR - Last 3 mos., waterproof, fits tightly around your dog's neck, kills ticks that attach to your dog's skin. Collar is not meant to be chewed on by other dogs, can be harmful to other dogs if chewed on.
FLEA PILLS - "Comfortis" Monthly free prevention by a pill instead of monthly applications to dog's skin.
MENDOTA SLID LEADS - slips around dog's neck, gives you peace of mind from ever loosing your dog if they should ever come out of their collar or their collar breaks, these are the slip leads GOT ORPHANS TRANSPORT uses during the transport to walk the dogs. They are perfect to use on any dog, I use a Mendota slip lead on my own dog every time I take mine to the vet with a leash attached to their collar too.
The transport will always have a few on hand in case someone would like to purchase one. $16 each
Every dog and puppy MUST have an" INTERSTATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE "to be able to travel on the transport. A health certificate is NOT the medical record for the dog. You can only obtain a health certificate from a veterinarian. The health certificate is only good for 10 days, for example you do not want to have one made on January 3 when the transport leaves on January 15th. When you bring your dog to the RV please hand the copy of the health certificate to the drivers so this one is for the transport to keep for our records, the USDA requires that we hold on to health certificates for a year. Please have the original health certificate inside of the dog's medical envelope. PLEASE have your copy/copies made ahead of time. The transport has to stay on schedule and can not stop to find a copy machine to make extra copies of health certificates. You can have 3 dogs on 1 health certificate if going to the same person/destination/address.
